Grunt has me Trapped - SquirrelLuvsPnut - 11-02-2013
I got to the Northern Block of the prison and I turned left and went up the stairs. I heard a growl, so I ran back to hide in the tunnel, but when I got there, a Grunt was waiting for me. He took a few swings at me before I managed to wriggle into the tunnel next to him. I'm hiding in the tunnel, but the dude won't leave. He keeps pacing back and forth (I can hear him). Do I just have to wait longer for him to leave, or do I make a break for it? (Which way should I run and where should I hide) This is my first time playing Amnesia, so please be gentle.

Maybe just run for it? As long as you have a general idea of what you're doing you should be able to outrun, and lose him fairly easily. Even if you fail, and get killed it's not the end of the world either, because the game will respawn you again.

Have you tried going deeper into the tunnel? That way he might think that you're not there anymore and leave. Perhaps you are hiding too close to the hole in the wall.

I think going up the tunnel has done the trick. I'm all the way up to the hole in the floor and the music has stabilized. I'm not going to check to see if he's gone till tomorrow though. I've shat enough bricks for one day. Thanks so much for the tips guys!

I tried that. The Grunt called me a noob before killin' me.
