A Flimsy Machine - Alardem - 12-20-2013

The Machine was poorly defended and extremely easy to destroy. All that was required was for Mandus to enter a conveniently located elevator to the core, toss a cylinder into the cogs, and mess around with a bunch of switches. After that, it was only a matter of dodging the Tesla-Pig guarding the Tower and touching the 4 tesla-coils that allowed Mandus to destroy the heart powering the Machine.

The Machine didn't earn the right to be called a "God" if it was so easy to be destroyed. I blame the game for not featuring any challenging puzzles. :p

Spoiler below!
The Shadow from the first game was similarly pathetic, though.

Wasn't what killed the Machine was essentially Mandus killing himself at the end? Since they share a split soul? That's what I figured, since they both died simultaneously cause of it.

If so, Mandus could have just thrown himself into a pit of cogs and gotten it all over with.

What if Mandus had a Rocket Launcher or something similar.. :p

What the guy below me said.

He had to get to the heart of the Machine (recall the human heart attached to the it, not to mention the body it was hooked up to). Plus, Mandus held out hope of finding his children until the Machine flat out told him that they were dead.

The point is that it was surprisingly easy for Mandus to find the Machine's heart. Too easy. :p

You have an interesting definition of 'easy.'
Wading through excrement, liquified bone and organs, dead bodies, being tricked into burning London, all with the dawning realization of your former self is not my definition of a good time. Tongue
Plus, it wouldn't make sense for the Machine to be labyrinthine, given that Mandus and the pigmen where the only ones operating it.

There were a few rifles hanging as decorations in the mansion, maybe you could load up one of them and put it to his head.

A Machine For Pigs would have been much more difficult if it had Smell-O-Vision. :p

That, we can agree on. lol The puzzles could have been harder, but given the context of the game, it fit the purpose.
