Weird sleeping problem - Froge - 01-23-2014 During weekdays, I wake up for classes at 9:30 on mondays / wednesdays / fridays and at 10:30 for class on tuesdays / thursdays. However, I always sleep the same amount of time the night before (at 1:00 am) so for 9:30 classes I pretty much have 1 less hour of sleep. Despite this, I almost always feel more tired when I wake up at 10:30 where I've had one more hour of sleep. On weekends I wake up at 11:30 and I don't feel tired at all. I do feel a bit tired when I wake up at 9:30, but it's not as brain crushing as when I wake up at 10:30. So basically I have this weird interval where I always feel tired if I wake up at that time. What say ye powers of forum diagnosis? RE: Weird sleeping problem - LordOfDragons - 01-23-2014 Hm got that problem too. On school days im tired and i cant sleep. (Have to get up at 6:00 AM most of the time) and at school days i wake up at 7:00-10:00 Am and i dont feel tired at all ._. And thats why its so hard throwing me out of the bed on school days. My mum tried several times, wakes me up 5 times but i just fall asleep again and dont want to move. I would recommend (Makes my room more comfortable) to sleep with a cozy temperature. If its too hot i cant sleep at all Maybe no coffe or other stuff keeping you awake, a tea or hot milk or so (Well it works for me), a good shower or bath, and no food before bed. Maybe you should also try making you tired, maybe a looong walk in a forest or other sport activities? Im the sleep expert That would be some of my tips. RE: Weird sleeping problem - Tiger - 01-23-2014 Wake up at 9.30 all day, every day? RE: Weird sleeping problem - i3670 - 01-23-2014 You only need 4-7 hours of sleep per night. I go to bed at around 11-12pm and get up at 6 and I don't feel tired at all. Edit: more than 7 hours is just waste. According to Stephen Fry. RE: Weird sleeping problem - DnALANGE - 01-23-2014 8 hours is the "best " I sleep TOO much. on the other hand when i work i have still and Always problems getting out of bed! ( 05.00 ) -> 16.00 +- That is just.. BLEH... too early for me! Getting offtopic now.. But i think loads of peiople have those issues, and the are annoying! RE: Weird sleeping problem - FlawlessHappiness - 01-23-2014 I heard that the best sleep is the one before 00.00 If I'm having any problems with my sleep I have one solution. Go to bed earlier and get up earlier in the morning. RE: Weird sleeping problem - Wooderson - 01-24-2014 I was watching a Terry Wogan BBC documentary about the body clock. It was actually really interesting to see how complex sleep was for different people. It's not as simple as "going to bed is best here at x or y because z". I learnt that for a young person aged 15-22 that its natural for their body clock to tell them to go to sleep at like 12am-2am. Along with that the perfect time for us to wake up is around 10am. Its really interesting to see how some colleges here in the UK have actually acknowledged this info and changed their starting times to 11am. It really sucks when you have to get up at 6:30 then... RE: Weird sleeping problem - VaeVictis - 01-24-2014 Some people just require fewer hours of sleep than others: http://www.livescience.com/5638-people-sleep.html Additionally, getting eight hours, while optimal on average, is useless if you're tossing and turning all night. Eights hours is an average, and individuals may require more or less. I don't think you have a disorder per say (so says a random person on the internetz), but you may want to find a way to regulate your sleep cycle. RE: Weird sleeping problem - Romulator - 01-24-2014 Also, depending on how your body clock works in your sleep, even with that extra hour of sleep, you may not be in your "light" sleep as opposed to your 1 hour earlier schedule. There's an app called Sleep Cycle (can't remember if it is free or not) which determines the best times to wake you up with an alarm between a time period you set. I used to use it a lot, but I kept forgetting to set it. |
