Weird texture glitch - OriginalUsername - 02-12-2014 Hey, I'm working on a sewer level at the moment, but when I place a water stream, it glitches really weird behind the water plane when I look at it from a certain angle. Here's the screenshot. Spoiler below!
RE: Weird texture glitch - Rapture - 02-12-2014 Can you show us a screenshot of it fine and then having the problem and pointing them out? I'm not sure what you're trying to show me, I think I see some reflection about the Water Stream, and the water plane looks fine I think. RE: Weird texture glitch - OriginalUsername - 02-12-2014 This should make it clear. It's falling from an open pipe on the wall, not streaming down the wall. Spoiler below!
Edit: I'm going to add an particle system to make a splashing thing in the water, but I can't seem to loop the ps. Still working on that, though. RE: Weird texture glitch - Mudbill - 02-12-2014 I think I see how it is. No matter what angle you look at it, the water is always a layer above the stream layer. I'm unsure what is best to do here. Are you using another plane as the stream? Perhaps you should try a particle system. RE: Weird texture glitch - DnALANGE - 02-12-2014 Resize is maybe? That''s what i Always do if stuff doesn;t really fit.. RE: Weird texture glitch - Statyk - 02-12-2014 It's just how the alphas of the water textures are "fighting" each other over who wants to be seen first. Try resizing the waterfall and place some splash particles around the base to cover up the meeting point a bit. RE: Weird texture glitch - Romulator - 02-13-2014 Or move it around ever so slightly along the appropriate axis. Something like a 0.05 will still look realistic to the eye and close enough to not, in Statyk's words, "fight" over what should be seen. You can see something similar to this when putting decals on a floor plane on the same co-ordinates. RE: Weird texture glitch - OriginalUsername - 02-13-2014 Alright, so I did what you guys suggested. I added a particle system, which is floating above the water so it wouldn't collide with the water plane. I also moved it around, re sized it so it doesn't go into the water again, but right above it. Despite all of that, it's still there.. Here are some screenshots: Spoiler below!
