Yup. I'm on this forum for less than a year though.

I think it means some strange sound of instrument, I've seen it in guitar sheet music. Maybe harmonics ?
RE: Sputnik Raff - Wooderson - 02-25-2015
MLG is very closely related to Montage Parodies and those images are fragments of the comedy.

I think that's a drum partiture, that stands for ride hit or bell i think
RE: Sputnik Raff - i3670 - 02-26-2015
They're notes for alto-saxophones btw. Should've said that earlier.
RE: Sputnik Raff - Darkfire - 02-26-2015
It definitely isn't drum partiture, they don't have key signatures. And no g-clef too, I think.
PS. These would be two sounds at the same time. It's possible to do on a sax ?
RE: Sputnik Raff - i3670 - 02-26-2015
Well it might be multiphonics or overtones
"Multiphonics is the technique of playing more than one note at once. A special fingering combination causes the instrument to vibrate at two different pitches alternately, creating a warbling sound. This effect can also be created by 'Humming' while playing a note, although not very popular it is still used by musicians who can master it."
"The use of overtones involves fingering one note but altering the air stream to produce another note which is an overtone of the fingered note. For example, if low B♭ is fingered, a B♭ one octave above may be sounded by manipulating the air stream. Other overtones that can be obtained with this fingering include F, B♭, and D. The same air stream techniques used to produce overtones are also used to produce notes above high F#."

I looked through whole wikipedia page about music notation and didn't find this symbol. Although I'm positive it is used, and I've seen it in drums' and other instruments' partitures a couple of times.
The problem is that I don't know the names of music stuff in english too much, and in my native tongue all I can find is selling offers or partitures. Did you contact your sax teacher yet ?
