HaptX-Edition of Penumbra - Googolplex - 12-03-2008 I 've heared, that there 's a "HaptX-Edition" of Penumbra. What is it? What 's new in these edition? Or is it still the same game with no changes? RE: HaptX-Edition of Penumbra - jens - 12-03-2008 It's the same game but you use the Novint controller to play the game instead of a mouse, http://www.novint.com. In short it gives you tons of really cool realistic interaction features, read more about the haptx versions of Penumbra here: http://haptx.com/games/Overture/index.php http://haptx.com/games/BlackPlague/index.php http://haptx.com/games/Requiem/index.php or better watch a video of it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mW70elK9Yrs its a bit old, the black plague edition has many new features not in the overture version. RE: HaptX-Edition of Penumbra - Googolplex - 12-03-2008 And there 's a patch v1.2 for Penumbra Overture. Is it only for HaptX-Edition? The latest official patch is v1.0.3. Can I use the patch v1.2 for the normal edition too? http://haptx.com/support/penumbraSupport.php RE: HaptX-Edition of Penumbra - jens - 12-03-2008 Ah then maybe overture has some of the nifty effects they created for black plague as well after installing that patch. The patch is haptx specific and all fixes and changes it makes are haptx specific. RE: HaptX-Edition of Penumbra - Kedjane - 12-05-2008 They really look nice, gave Penumbra some pretty nice advertising there aswell. I'm guessing it's costy though. RE: HaptX-Edition of Penumbra - Tommy Gun - 12-06-2008 so what, if i want to run overture with hapt -x, i will need to rebuy overture? RE: HaptX-Edition of Penumbra - Linux.Blue - 12-06-2008 did they? it sounded like he said "don't even bother buying the penumbra series without this device." maybe I heard wrong. it may be fun to try, but it looked like it was 200 dollars. understandable, but i just don't know. RE: HaptX-Edition of Penumbra - jens - 12-08-2008 You'll have to buy a specific version of Overture to work with HaptX. But I think that in some countries, some stores or so there is a Novint Falcon that can be bought and it comes with a free copy of Overture among other games, but not sure how widely available it is. RE: HaptX-Edition of Penumbra - Linux.Blue - 12-09-2008 sort of being sarcastic, but when you rotate an object in Black Plague/Requiem, does your physical hand rotate as well? more so serioues, how does that work then? do you even feel anything? |
