Black Plaque - rex6 - 02-12-2009

Hej.
1).
I have downloaded Black Plaque through "Direct2Drive". Through them I also downloaded and installed the 1.0.1. patch. But nevertheless I still have lots of graphic problems (glitches and objekts which disappears).
2).
when I start the game I get a "r6034" error.

I have updated my graphicdriver.

My computer is an Acer Travelmate 5520G:
AMD Athlon 64*2 Dual-Core TK-57
Ati Mobility Radeon HD2400XT
3GB memory.
It is the full version of Black Plaque :redface:

I have no problems with Overture, only with Black Plaque.

According to the log it seems like the patch was not applied correctly. Perhaps try redownloading the game?

Hej Thomas.

That didn't help until I replaced the old exefil with the new. Now I can start the game without glitches, but I still have a lot of graphicerrors:
huges spikes, and floor and ceilings missing (not everywhere!)
The game starts up perfect in the first room without errors, but from thereonSad:

What do you mean by replacing the exe? If you are using the Direct2Drive version then you must use everything as they intended else you are bound to have major problems.

Try unintalling the game and downloading it again from d2d and see if that fixes it.

I have uninstalled the game, I have redownloaded and reinstalled the game and now I am back to start with the same problems (glitching and so on).
The old exefil is here:
C:\Program Files\Paradox Interactive\Penumbra Black Plague\redist
And the new exefil is here:
C:\Program Files\Paradox Interactive\Penumbra Black Plague.

I feel no difference playing the game with or without the patch.

If I want to use the new exe, I have to replace the old with the new exe. If I just klick on the new without replacing it, I get a message saying that there is no SDL.dll found.

The D2D patch seems to be incorrect, all the files should end up in "Penumbra Black Plague\redist" and not in "\Penumbra Black Plague\". If you have the penumbra.exe in Penumbra Black Plague then chances are all the other important files from the updated ended up there as well. I suggest you report the error to D2D so that they can look into it and correct the patch.

While waiting, you could probably move all the files manually and get it correct. I think you have folders like maps\ and core\ in "\Penumbra Black Plague\", move the contents of them to the corresponding folder in the redist folder and maybe it will work correctly.
