Any tips/ressources to learn Swedish ? - Magnum Opus - 07-30-2014

Hello there ! Smile
Recently (well about one year ago) I've developed a certain interest for Sweden and from that moment I wanted to learn the langage.
Unfortunately, I don't really know where to start, considering there is no such teaching in the French educational system (to my knowledge). So I would like to question you guys :
Do you have any decent ressources (books, DVD, videos, anything) to learn Swedish ?
Some of you have learned Swedish ?
Is it complicated ?
And how's Sweden ?

Hejsån, trevligt att träffas!

I am not swedish, but I was taught and forced to learn it at school, it's the second official language, to use and speak.
Althought only by a minority.

So I am not especially master at it but I can at least say this:

Swedish is not hard language in a sense that it is a germanic language and it belongs to northern germanic branch. The language family that consists english, germany, norway, danish, icelandic and dutch.

It has only two genders: en and ett, compared to french: le, la, l and les.

New comers to letters are ö,ä and å.
And of course, almost every character has also a new way of pronouncation. G sounds like J etc.

it has its diffuculties, long words for instance. But they're relatively easy to learn with some time.

Easiest and the most effective way to start would be books.
And to begin, start here: http://www.101languages.net/swedish/swedish-resources/

Sweden is a good country, and good place to be drunk.
I have som cousins there.

Hallå !
Thank you very much for your answer. I'll start with your link then and see how far I can go with that. Smile And I might ask for some informations to the Embassy of Sweden aswell, hopefully they'll be able to show me some books I can afford to learn Swedish.
Tack så mycket !

"jag talar inte svenska" is the most useful Swedish phrase, but if you want to handle situations with style, say "din mammas fitta luktar om surströmming"
