Listen to the phone calls. The guy on the phone tells you about (can't remember exactly) how they want to make you into an animatronic too, or something like that.

The robots aren't there for security. It's a pizza place, like Chuck e cheese. They're there for entertainment.

Then it's even worse. Why would a robot designed for entertainment do such a thing?

Do you really need to nitpick everything?

Animatronic robots are entertainers and mascots in Freddy Fazbear's Pizza, but at night they're set to free roam mode so their servo motors don't get stuck or something. Free roam mode also makes them unpredictable and potentially dangerous (bite of '87 etc). Yeah I know it sounds silly and it is, but you can't expect a serious plot from a video game with retarded looking furry robots. Okay enough spoonfeeding for this day

It's because it's just a horror game.

Not a particularly deep one, just a horror game that's supposed to scare you. That's also why the whole facility runs on what appears to be a battery, why Mr. Schmidt doesn't leave after his first day, and why it's a game about killer animatronics that have sentience by unexplained means.

malfunction? That's what makes it creepy, I guess. It's unexplainable. Maybe some sicko programmed them like that, or somehow, they became possessed.

His nitpicking makes sense though.

I dunno, I think the best horror games do a good job of getting people to accept their setting. In this I can't stop thinking "why?" to everything. The answer is because it's a game with a very simple yet very forced mechanic. After the first jump scare death I had experienced all the magic the game had up its sleeve, and all that was left for me was to continue wondering why.

I get that it's fun for some to watch videos and streams of. But I just can't get into it myself.
