Penumbra: Overture DEMO Crash on startup - DokeyDokeyPanick - 04-20-2009

When starting up the game it goes to a blank screen shortly after followed by leading me back to my desktop with an error message stating my graphics card does not support vertex shading or is not up to date, which it both supports vertex shading and is up to date, is there anything else i could do, i'd like to play the demo it looks like a promising game!

Try downloading latest drivers for graphicscards, uninstall current ones and then install the new ones.

Also tried that the same message, if it helps I'll attach the HPL log. I even updated sound drivers just in case updated windows updated all that could be updated.

I've got an Nvidia GeForce 7600 GT, which is listed under cards that are covered, which is why im a bit confused

It should work with that card and must be a driver issue. I am afraid I do not have any exact advice, but since the error means you cannot play any OpenGL games I am sure there must be some way to fix it.

The only advice I have is properly uninstalling the drivers and then making sure u have the latest. By uninstalling sometimes u can get rid of strange settings messing up things. If you are sure you have done this, then I am afraid I do not have any more tips. There has been several users with this problem, and as far as I know all who fixed it did it by reinstalling and updating drivers.
