After install the new version of Amnesia the dark descent (version 1.2). the game couldn't be run, the game crashed and I saw a notification named Blackbox:

From where and when did you get the game since you didn't have the update?
If you go to Documents\Amnesia\Main, you'll find a file called hpl.log. Please post that here.

Seems the patch has been incorrectly installed as it looks like it might not find files it needs to run. Could also be that the graphics card needs the drivers updated, but if the game worked before this should not be the case. Re-install a fresh copy of the game and install the patch correctly, exactly how to do that depends on from where you got the game.

Define "other site" as a specific site or source; it is beneficial to figure out exactly where a copy was obtained. Could you also provide us with where you got the update from as well?
