RE: The Ultimate SOMA Discussion Thread - PathOS - 08-17-2015 Wow, that's a shock. I just finished replaying it and it really felt there was a lot added. I mean, from the furniture which all looked new, to all the Machinery of each level and all the added sound effects to accompany it all. I wasn't a fan of TCR "locking/blocking" a lot of things like furniture and doors. But in retrospect I understand why they did it, since they wanted to create something that felt like a huge vast processing plant and therefore such a place needs a lot of doors and gates, and to have them all accessible to the player would have made the game world humongous. Glad to see so far that in SOMA there appears to be similar design from TDD where you won't run into arbitrary locked doors blocking your way (ie. they're locked for reason and not just to "stop" the player from going places). And again, that size comparison shows how big SOMA is. Pretty amazing work! RE: The Ultimate SOMA Discussion Thread - TuBBe - 08-17-2015 Has there been any new info about sys. reqs.? I wish my Nvidia GT620M still has enough juice to run this game, otherwise am fucked. Not to mention Steam, uses gzip compression for its download streams by default. I assume unpacked SOMA (pure game cache on disk) will be around 20GB? RE: The Ultimate SOMA Discussion Thread - Macgyverthehero - 08-18-2015 Anxiously checking the Steam store everyday for SOMA... The only other thing I noted is Amnesia: A Machine For Pigs not being in the search results. RE: The Ultimate SOMA Discussion Thread - TiManGames - 08-18-2015 Frictional Games posted this on twitter: I think a steam page is really close now. RE: The Ultimate SOMA Discussion Thread - i3670 - 08-18-2015 I don't know, but the more sceenshots I see from SOMA the more I begin to think about Dead Space, sparce lighting and gunmetal gray surroundings. Dead sea..... RE: The Ultimate SOMA Discussion Thread - Slanderous - 08-18-2015 Guys, how much do you think the game will cost? I wonder if my 30 euro that I keep secretly on my steam particularly for SOMA will suffice.
