Random System Freezes - Witch Döctor - 09-22-2015

I've been having system freezes whilst playing the game, having to hard reset my PC every time it happens. this happens around 30 minutes of gameplay, but can also happen as soon as 5 minutes of gameplay.

I've already tried some fixes, but non seem to work. there is also no direct or obvious action in game that causes this.

I've attached the hpl.log file.

Thanks ahead

Have you done any tweaking to the graphics card? Like overclocking it?

Not at all.

Have you checked https://www.frictionalgames.com/forum/thread-30585.html Problem A 4 that lists common programs and backgrounds process that could conflict with the game (and cause random crashes)?

I have non of the mentioned programs running, except Steam Overlay. I've tried disabling it for the game, but it did not seem to fix the problem.

Could be related to sound. So could try using another sound device if possible (configure in the system control panel) or update drivers for the sound card. But before doing that, have you tried restarting the computer?

My computer is technically rebooted every time I get this, as I have to hard reset it.

I don't have another sound device, but if it helps, my current driver is Realtek HD Audio Driver (if there are any known problems with it), and it is updated.

Ah sorry yes you said that in the first post.

Possibly try different settings in the AMD control panel. For example do they still have the A.I Optimization thing? In the past that has caused issues with our games. Can also try to change other things such as making sure vsync is off (or application controlled) in AMD panel and such.

Will try to turn off V-sync (I've set it as application control), as well as some other pre-figured options in the control panel, and I'll reply again if it won't help.

Also, what did you mean by "A.I optimization"?

RE: Random System Freezes - jens - 09-22-2015

There used to be an option called that (or something similar) in the AMD control panel (or catalyst center) and having it active could crash or cause strange rendering in our earlier games. I have not had an AMD card for quite some time so unsure if this option remains.
