SOMA freezes at room flood - Froge - 09-26-2015 Just made contact with the girl in the communication room. Place floods, she tells me to head to the shuttle, simon says "oh fuck - what do i do!?" and as the water rises, the screen goes black. It doesn't crash, because I hear the sounds slowly fade away, but then I wait forever and nothing starts up after. My computer freezes, and only hard restart boots it back up. List of things I've tried: >updating drivers >setting resolution to 640x400, turning off V-sync, textures to low, turning off shadows >running the game with no background programs >running the game in windowed mode SYSTEM SPECS: Processor: 2.3 GHz Intel Core i7 Memory: 8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3 Graphics: Intel HD Graphics 4000 512 MB Software: OS X 10.8.4 105.65 GB of flash storage space Macbook Pro Retina, Mid 2012 Attached log as well RE: SOMA freezes at room flood - AaronKOG - 09-30-2015 Do you still have this issue? Was this a GOG or Steam build? I have the exact same macbook hardware (except non-retina) and I fixed this issue. RE: SOMA freezes at room flood - Guest - 10-01-2015 Hi, I would like to know as well, since I'm experiencing the same problem. RE: SOMA freezes at room flood - jens - 10-01-2015 Make sure you are running 1.02 version of the game and if needed replay using a save from previous level. RE: SOMA freezes at room flood - Guest - 10-01-2015 Hi, I would like to know as well, as I'm experiencing the same problem. (running v. 1.02 from GalaxyClient (GOG)) RE: SOMA freezes at room flood - jbowditch - 10-10-2015 (09-30-2015, 08:31 PM)AaronKOG Wrote: Do you still have this issue? Was this a GOG or Steam build? I've updated to public_beta. I've verified the cache. I've turned off the fancy graphics features. Then I replayed from the start of the game and still...it crashes? Any thoughts? Also what is GOG? How can I verify which build I have? I'm playing this through Steam. Macbook Pro 15-inch, Mid 2010 Processor 2.66 GHz Intel Core i7 Graphics NVIDIA GeForce GT 330M 512 MB Software OS X 10.8.5 (12F2560) RE: SOMA freezes at room flood - AaronKOG - 10-15-2015 I just made a change to the [public_beta] version of the game that may help with this issue. If you'd like to try it out do the following: 1. right click SOMA in your library 2. click properties 3. click BETAS tab 4. select "public_beta" from drop-down list 5. click LOCAL FILES tab 6. click VERIFY INTEGRITY OF GAME CACHE... If you still have the issue let me know. RE: SOMA freezes at room flood - Guest - 10-22-2015 I just tried the above fixes and still am having a graphical freakout that ends with the spinning beach ball of death and needing a restart. Everything's running like a charm prior to the flooding in the comm room. Model Identifier: iMac15,1 Processor Name: Intel Core i7 Processor Speed: 4 GHz Number of Processors: 1 Total Number of Cores: 4 L2 Cache (per Core): 256 KB L3 Cache: 8 MB Memory: 16 GB RE: SOMA freezes at room flood - WylyQuimby - 11-01-2015 I just encountered this problem. Horrible graphics glitches after the flood scene. Sound did seem to work. I could slowly move around a tad and then my Mac Pro crashed and restarted. Afterwards, I found that Steam had forgotten my login and where my Steam folder was. I fixed that easily, but my SOMA saves seem to be gone now. When I start the game there are no saved games to load (the option is greyed out). I assume they still exist but SOMA has forgotten where they are. Up until that point, everything seemed to be going well. ![]() Mac Pro Late 2013 64 GB RAM 3.5 GHz Xeon 6-core 2xAMD FirePro D500 Edit: Ah I see the Mac Pro thread. It doesn't seem to mention the Steam folder and saved game problem, but otherwise it's the same issue. |
