black boxes appearing on screen - McMuffin - 09-26-2015
I Just downloaded 1.02 today in hopes it would fix my problem, but unfortunately it hasn't. I run the following:
windows 8.1 x64
AMD FX-9370
8 gigs ram
Radeon R9 285
I'm getting these black boxes that flicker typically around the headache lighting effect. They flicker to the point that the game is completely unplayable. I have all the latest graphics drivers. Attached is a photo I was able to grab of what it looks like. I want to play this game so bad, I would really appreciate some help.

Thats lens effect. Can you pls upload the hpl log data from your saves folder?
Then we can better look into what happend.

Here it is, there is also one labeled hpl_update do you want that one as well?

There are a bunch of advices that i can make, the log is full of errors.
Before we reinstall everything...
- Update your drivers
- verify your cache integrity
- verify your installation
- reinstall

Ok, so I went and reinstalled my motherboard drivers and my graphics driver, restarted the computer and no luck XD
I went into verify the cache and restarted the game, no luck either.
I just uninstalled the game and I'm currently re-downloading it. Fingers crossed that this does the trick.
I appreciate the help! I'll be back on it 2 hours to post the results once the installation is complete.

So after reinstalling the game, The black boxes keep flickering
I was really looking forward to playing this game, this is pretty frustrating

This might be some sort of driver corruption issue. Try to uninstall the driver and then installing the latest driver again. Know this has helped users with other graphics problems.
If that doesn't work, make sure there is no background program interfering that might mess things up.
