Penumbra in 3D depth/relief ? - gizmo27 - 01-30-2010 Hi all I'd like to know if there's a option to activate to play Penumbra in 3D depth/relief with passive glasses ? RE: Penumbra in 3D depth/relief ? - Sexbad - 01-30-2010 I remember reading that the HPL engine doesn't support more than one camera display at a time. HPL2 apparently allows for more than one but I've always wondered about anaglyphic graphics in games. It would be an especially amazing idea in horror. The Tuurngait penis would look even larger. RE: Penumbra in 3D depth/relief ? - gizmo27 - 01-31-2010 Yes I find it very original too. Is there any way to contact the programmers to tell them about that, maybe to make an update including anaglyph mode ? It would be very cool to see zombie approaching you in 3D relief, maybe it would be more scaring no ? RE: Penumbra in 3D depth/relief ? - Sexbad - 01-31-2010 The developers frequent the forum, so I doubt it'll be long before they see this. :> RE: Penumbra in 3D depth/relief ? - Xsdsdds - 01-31-2010 (01-30-2010, 10:58 AM)gizmo27 Wrote: Hi all Thats the best idea since the last idea i seen. RE: Penumbra in 3D depth/relief ? - Thomas - 01-31-2010 3D does not require two camera angles to be rendered simultaneously, instead what happens is that every other frame has a light sideways offset and then the glasses quickly shut/open so only one eye only see renderings with a certain offset. Glasses and software that allow this can ususally add this to most games by simply "hacking" the view matrix and making it render the scene from two different view points. Do not know if this is true for the new Nvidia stuff though. If this is not supported, then perhaps one needs to add some kind of extra stuff and might could perhaps do this if I get the correct info. If it is not too much work and I have the time that is. Perhaps you are referring to some other 3d technique though? I am not sure what you mean by relief. RE: Penumbra in 3D depth/relief ? - gizmo27 - 02-01-2010 Are you sure it's possible to use new 3D passive glasses by hacking ? You don't need to buy new screen special 3D relief view ? Will it work with my old 4:3 screen (built in 2005) ? Changing screen param by hacking does not break the screen at the end of a time ? RE: Penumbra in 3D depth/relief ? - Thomas - 02-01-2010 The new glasses requires 100hz monitors to work. The rest I don't know since I never tried the new 3d tech or looked into it much. RE: Penumbra in 3D depth/relief ? - gizmo27 - 02-01-2010 for example my pc screen is 'year 2005' old : it works at a 60;2 Hz frequency and uses S-VGA technology : hacking it at 100 Hz can cause important damages no ? It's built to support 60.2 Hz... But 100 Hz ? RE: Penumbra in 3D depth/relief ? - gizmo27 - 02-04-2010 Another question : in Penumbra there's a lot of dark areas in the game : dark places, etc... : does the 3D vision renders well with darkness ? And those with anaglyph or modern glasses ? |
