I did not mean to be annoying though. I just wanted to save the answer until I our site was done. So now the answers to your question lies here:

Not annoying! I laughed at it.

With the steam activation request, you have my preorder today! Smile

The new trailer shows the game's engine very well and looks like it will easily outdo Penumbra when it comes to the fear factor. BUT ...

FYI: Jens & Thomas I know the game is dark by nature and takes place in dimly lit areas, but the gameplay videos released thus far are really, really, really dark. I think it would do some good to up the gamma/brightness some. For the sake of advertising purposes, I think it's better to showcase the gameplay and show off the physics/graphics.

Hopefully we can announce some retail CD info soon. The Pre-order is for download only though.

Also, the game is too cheap! You're practically giving it away! And another Penumbra Steam sale prior to the game's release might do good to grab more attention.

Did you guys, by chance, see the sale that world of goo did last year?

If I preorder it and then activate it for steam, can I redownload it from steam at another time or on another computer? Can I do that at the frictional store?

If your game is activated/registered through steam you can redownload it as much as you want and from any computer.

Great, I'll be preordering my copy now!

One more question:
How will the HPL2 engine be available? Will it be packaged with the game, will it be free to use?

RE: Amnesia distribution info - jens - 02-22-2010

The tools to create new content for the game will be bundled with the game on release or will be released soon after.

In regards to Linux, would you please make the game available as a tarball and hopefully as RPM and DEB packages as well? Perhaps you can host your own repository for all your games, or you can have someone else host them for you such as Canonical for the DEB packages. I don't know how it works, but if you can work out some sort of partnership with a host then that host will do the packaging for you. Advantages would include better publicity on platforms that use those package formats, automatic updates provided via the standard mechanism, and by providing a tarball the community will be able to create packages for less popular package management systems. Since the games require a product key to unlock, there shouldn't be any greater danger of software piracy than what exists already, so I see no disadvantages beyond some extra effort on your part.
