How long will Amnesia be? - Unreal - 05-12-2010
My first time through, I beat Overture in 4 hours, Black Plague in another 4 hours for a combined total of 8- which is pretty good. How long are you guys targeting for Amnesia? I would love to see it 6+ hours in length per episode, if it's episodic. The longer the better (so long as it doesn't affect quality).

I'll be disappointed if it is less than 10 hours. Overture and Black Plague took me 12 hours combined

We are honestly not sure how long it is and we try not to think about it. Sure, we want to have a game that lasts a while, but our main concerns is for the experience to unfold in a certain way and to make sure that what is in there is as good, meaningful and varied as possible. To have a certain game length as a goal goes against our design philosophy.
I understand you all are interested in knowing the game length though
Once we start doing tests of the full game we will probably be able to get some average completion time that we can share!

That's a good philosophy in my opinion. What matters is that what you play is good, not how long it is.

I don't care for game is long or not. I care for game experience. Look at the Half Life 2: Episode Two or One for example they are really short but their every minute is a really great. Game experince is so cool, I hope Amnesia will be like that, so longevity is not a problem for me.

Well Black plague took me 2 hours, if not to count the times where i sat on menu building up courage to go on, other than that it was really fun. So you could say that I do not care about how long the game is aslong as it does not get repetitive and is fun. Quality before Quantity, eh ?

At least it's going to be a series? I liked how Overture ended spitting in your face, not giving any answers and you had to buy Black Plague. Requiem in the other hand... Please, don't do another Requiem
It sucked to be honest. Had pretty much nothing to do with the story.

While I also thought Overture and Black Plague were much better, I still enjoyed Requiem. It was fun.

If Overture were No One Lives Forever 1 and Black Plague were No One Lives Forever 2, Requiem would be Contract J.A.C.K
