looks ok, there are ALOT more things to worry about in a game than the hand, atleast from that screenshot, guys, antialiasing is a good thing, hope ur gonna work on that:o and i agree with the ones that say the texture looks abit plastic, it does, but texuring is easy fix, i loved the mood you got in the trailer, looks scary, hope u get that penumbra overture feeling again Big Grin

Most modern video cards can force anti-aliasing, so if you really would like AA, you can just force it on. Wink

I'm not sure where you guys are seeing aliasing in that screenshot... looks to me like there is AA in it.

It would be pretty weird if there's no AA in Amnesia, considering even Penumbra Overture had it.

Good point. I'm sure it does have AA, and any aliasing/loss of quality he is seeing in screenshots/videos is likely a result of it being scaled down.

I think the videos and screenies are just fine for a small company.

For those who wonder about the AA:

If I've understood right, Jens records the videos.
And what I've heard, is that Jens' computer ain't that high end.
And if he haven't upgraded it, since what it was back in the day, I don't believe that there's AA in these videos.

Also, the videos (both: Penumbra and Amnesia) are recorded with 4:3 resolution (due to not so new computer), probably 1024x768, using Fraps' "half-size" setting and probably edited with Windows Movie Maker, which renders them using .wmv codec, which in the end, ain't the best quality.

But one thing is certain:
No matter what the videos look, or the screenies look, the final game WILL look good - and sound even better...

Also, if I am correct, Amnesia was said to use some sort of lighting that does not work very well with anti-aliasing. Apparently it's the same as in STALKER, where unless you were in Clear Sky or Call of Pripyat and had DX10 enabled the two options would not work in tandem.

I didn't say they were bad, just that the down-scaling process likely results in some level of quality degradation.

I didn't say you said they were bad.
Someone just complaint about something...

I'm waiting more of the final product and it's quality, than the videos or screenies.
