Lighting Problem, weird colors - lazor - 09-08-2010 Every once in a while when I start the game or after a level transition, the thunderstorm lightnings will produce wrongly colored light. Wrong means blue/green instead of normal/bright. I am running Amnesia on Ubuntu 10.04 64-bit, my nvidia driver version is 195.36.24 and I have a Nvidia 9800gt. Edit: I tried attaching my hpl.log, but it wouldn't work, so here is a pastebin link: http://pastebin.com/Fju5LmWR I played the game from the beginning, where everything was fine, until I started seeing problems with the lighting. RE: Lighting Problem, weird colors - weltall - 09-08-2010 same problem here, relogging usually fixes it for a bit. i got even red. in my case with more up to date drivers: 256.44 http://a.imageshack.us/img20/856/schermataamnesiathedark.png RE: Lighting Problem, weird colors - lazor - 09-08-2010 (09-08-2010, 01:53 PM)weltall Wrote: relogging usually fixes it for a bit. What is relogging and how can I use that? RE: Lighting Problem, weird colors - jens - 09-08-2010 re-login I think is what was meant? It's strange I used a 6800gt on ubuntu with 256.something with no troubles like this at all when testing. It definitely sounds as a driver issue, but strange if you get it in 256.44 as well. Can you do a video of it? RE: Lighting Problem, weird colors - takyoji - 09-08-2010 I actually experienced that once myself, but just in the corner of a room, and haven't really had it since (disabled vsync on the game, but I highly doubt that's the cause). RE: Lighting Problem, weird colors - Sharpshooter - 09-08-2010 I saw the same bug in the some rooms. A strange area of light sometimes blue, sometimes green. This bug seems to appear randomly. RE: Lighting Problem, weird colors - weltall - 09-09-2010 sorry, no. I didn't even mean that. I use it frequently for other reasons and had a lapsus. I meant just restarting the game. I had it again in the prisons (in a place which doesn't even look like to have lights from outside (the passage to the lower part of the prison)) but it was before reading your message so I didn't make a video. Then I had it no more for now... seems quite random. If it happens again I'll be sure to do a video. RE: Lighting Problem, weird colors - Nemoder - 09-10-2010 Same problem here. Everything was fine up until the Cistern area. The game crashed there with a segfault and after reloading from save much of the game lighting from torches etc randomly turns to rainbow colors until I reload. I know some people find disco lights horrifying but it does kill the mood for me a bit. B) I'm about 90% sure this is some kind of file access / permissions problem that gets randomly triggered on different reloads. My copy was installed to /usr/local/games/Amnesia, and after noticing that the problem didn't happen on the few times I launched it as root, I chmod 777'd the directory and changed ownership to 'users' instead of 'root.' Since then it hasn't surfaced. Now if it's installed to ~/<whatever> I don't know what to suggest... RE: Lighting Problem, weird colors - SlickMcRunFast - 09-12-2010 I also run into this issue once in awhile. A full game restart always does the trick. Nvidia 8800 driver 256.44 |
