RE: Compiling a List of Problems - Twin - 09-27-2010 what sucks is that im not even referring to the demo. I went and bought the game before trying the demo and feel ripped off since i can't even play it. It would only be understandable that the full game wouldn't work either since they're both essentially the same thing, just the demo is obviously smaller. Did you try the second link I posted here? http://www.frictionalgames.com/forum/thr...l#pid33849 It's the only solution I can think of unless you want to try and create your own thread and have one of the devs help you. If you bought the Steam version and have any friends with a 9800gt card, you could always ask to try it on their computer to see if it works although I'm pretty sure it's just the model itself. Edit: Try the patch located in the following link which was released a short while ago - it may fix the problem, but don't take my word for it. http://www.frictionalgames.com/forum/thread-4658.html RE: Compiling a List of Problems - THWIP71 - 09-27-2010 (09-27-2010, 01:28 AM)Spiegelman Wrote:(09-26-2010, 04:49 AM)THWIP71 Wrote: WOW....you fail at deductive reasoning. Thanks for nothing. So, by your logic, if myself and 3 other people all have a 9800GT....which is one of the most popular and versatile cards of the last 5 years...and we all have a similar problem, it MUST be the fault of the 9800GT, and NOT the fault of an indie dev who "didn't have the money to do extensive testing"? LOL...THAT'S RICH! And, BTW, I did in fact start my own thread, BEFORE I posted in this one. I got ZERO help there either. This place is useless; I might as well be asking for help from a Wal-Mart employee. RE: Compiling a List of Problems - Kim - 09-29-2010 Monster physics doesn't handle barrels all that well, as Helloween demonstrates (3:20). http://youtube.com/watch?v=LQp_Awgx6Pw The "unbreakable door" is, apparently, also "unopenable" from the inside. http://www.frictionalgames.com/forum/thread-4812.html RE: Compiling a List of Problems - Spiegelman - 09-29-2010 (09-29-2010, 07:43 PM)Kim Wrote: Monster physics doesn't handle barrels all that well, as Helloween demonstrates (3:20). Do you have any idea if both of these bugs occured with the new patch? I notice it says "includes some other fixes", but not sure if these persisted through the patch, or were caused by the patch. Either way if you don't know, it's okay. I'm going to update the main post to state that all of those problems were pre-patch 1.0.1, so if anyone notices a problem is fixed just let me know so I can correct it. RE: Compiling a List of Problems - Spiegelman - 09-30-2010 Phew, okay... finally I can head to bed after I post this. PLEASE READ THE MAIN POST AGAIN AS IT HAS BEEN UPDATED DRASTICALLY! With the release of patch 1.0.1, I decided to label problems as fixed, unfixed (remains), or still needs testing. Sometimes you will just see "(1.0.1)" which means I only noticed it after the release of the patch, so I wasn't sure if it was a problem in vanilla or not. I have also split the fixed problems from everything else and now have two separate posts. If you have a problem which has been fixed, just say so and I'll update it accordingly - likewise if a problem has surfaced because of the new patch. I just retrieved the three orb pieces from the Transept and I'm tired as hell, so I haven't tested anything past that. I may have also messed some things up in the main posts, but it'll have to wait because I'm just too tired. Thanks to everyone, again, who've contributed to this list and let's continue to help Frictional perfect their game. RE: Compiling a List of Problems - bugmenot - 10-08-2010 I crawled under the stairs to the big doors in the cistern room, and got stuck there. RE: Compiling a List of Problems - delonemonkey - 10-08-2010 i cant even get the game to work, and my computer should be able to run it fine. By "crawled" you mean you were crouching? And what side of the stairs did you get stuck in? I'll update the details if/when you get back to me. Don't know if you read the previous 7 or 8 posts, but someone else was having issues getting their game to run, too. This thread is for more generalized bugs; however, I'll link you to a few threads which may have a solution (which is probably a hardware compatibility issue): 1) http://www.frictionalgames.com/forum/thread-4658.html (new patch 1.0.1, stickied at the top) 2) http://www.frictionalgames.com/forum/thread-4604-post-39907.html#pid39907 (VMWare suggestion by ThePaSch) 3) http://www.frictionalgames.com/forum/thread-3754.html (and of course the whole troubleshooting guide they have stickied) Hope at least one of these works for you. I tried to do it again.. The correct name of the area is "Entrance to Cistern". It happens quite easily when going to the left hand side of the stairs. I couldn't get it to happen from the right hand side. And yes, crouching. You end up underneath the stairs and can walk about under there, but can't escape. |
