Death in the game - kLy - 09-11-2010

Hi

The game manual mentions that there are consequences to death, changing the game slightly.

I died a few times with the water monster and I don't know what has changed about the game because of it. I guess I won't really notice what is different until I play the game again and don't die in that segment?

Since the manual is so vague about it:

1. What are the effects of dying in the game and does it affect the gameplay/difficulty or just story?
2. Is it something you'll only see in the ending or do the changes take place in the game after each respawn
3. Is the effect stackable? eg. Any more different to die 5 times with the water monster compared to 1?
4. Does it become better to die if you're really low on health than use up your precious few healing items? Since most of the things you've done persist and you'll end up with full health after.

Having an awesomely terrifying time with this one Smile

Interesting, I did not know this, where is the manual?

RE: Death in the game - Arvuti - 09-11-2010

I read this in the manual (from steam )

Quote:If your health reaches zero you will die. However, death does not work like it usually does in traditional games. In this game; instead of simply restarting, you will not loose any progress, but something in the game world will change. This change can come in many different forms and you will never be sure what it will be. To increase your health you need to find and use bottles of herbal extract.

Yup that's what I read. It's pretty vague and I guess it's intentionally so to be spoiler free. Still very interesting to know though Smile

Well, I did notice that the enemies seem to change location when you die.
