Can anybody help me?
I am playing the Mac version.
I am just up to the part where I am chased by the monster in the sewer, I have to go through and slam shut two doors so I can get to the ladder leading upwards. I get a loading screen when I get a certain way up the ladder, but then it unexpectedly quits to the desktop. I've tried it about three times now with the same result.
The second time I made a save while I was on the ladder before I got too high. I found the bit with the monster quite difficult and didn't want to have to do it again. It quit to the desktop again as soon as it finished saving, but luckily, it loaded up again OK so I was on the ladder.
So I tried climbing the ladder again, and got the loading screen and then once again, it unexpectedly quit to the desktop. I had error messages on all three occasions.
I have copied and pasted below the error message I got on my final attempt (after the mid-ladder loading screen).

Can you provide the save game file? This file is located in the Library/Application Support/Frictional Games/Amnesia/Main/[profile name] folder.
Just zip up the latest file (look at the date in the filename)

Um, OK. How do I actually get it onto the forum, so that you can look at it?
I'm sorry to be such a pain in the arse, but I'm not used to playing games on my computer.
Right, I've worked out how to zip the save, but I don't know how to put it on the forum...
OK, I've just given it one more try, and it seems to have worked. This time I climbed down the ladder a bit until the monster was alerted. Then I climbed up a little way and laughed and pointed at him as he span round in a circle unable to reach me. After a few seconds he just wandered off. Then I ascended the ladder and was able to get into what I assume to be the next section. Examining the well told me the ladder broke during the ascent.
So I don't know why it kept on quitting, but I seem to have got passed it now.
If you still want that zipped save file to look it in case there's a problem with that section or something, then if you tell me exactly how to stick it on the forum for you to look at and copy or whatever, then I'll gladly do so.
Anyway, I'm very sorry to have wasted your time.
