Every OpenGL game aswell? (all games using idTech engine are OGL games like Doom 3, Quake 4, Prey...)
Any plans to switch to Windows 7 Tongue try Linux?

AS popsUlfr have been saying, the problem is in the drivers. Unfortunly, drivers for laptops are often quite crappy and it can be a bit of pain to get it right.

For your HD2600 Mobility, you want to check A.1.4 here:
http://frictionalgames.com/forum/thread-3754.html

By doing this, you should be able to get the latest drivers to work. I have a HD 2600, so it should work if you get the proper drivers installed.

Regarding X800Pro:
There is a patch in the works for this. First make sure to have the latest drivers installed, then download the demo and add this fix:
http://frictionalgames.com/forum/thread-4476-page-1.html

That way you can make sure that it should work, once the patch is released.

And the reason why other games work is because they use D3D. Amnesia use OpenGL, which often a lot worse driver support.

Cursing and generally being very mocking won't help you get any decent help. Radeon X-series problem is known and being worked on to get the full version fixed also, the fix DOES work, according to many many users. If you would have searched before posting, you could have found out about it.

Please behave yourself, everyone's doing their best to help you.

RE: Loads of problems - Twin - 09-20-2010

join the club, you're not the only one who's having trouble even getting this game to run properly.

RE: Loads of problems - Kuni - 09-20-2010

Treat others as you would like to be treated yourself please..

Many people have had similar issues to you but haven't reacted in the way you have.. there is no need to be petulant.. just be polite and clear and then people will do what they can to help you Smile

I have an ATI mobility card myself and it is just a fact that getting drivers to work can be a right pain. That is not the fault of Frictional.

* Center installed.
Is this of any use to you?

* Right click on your desktop.
* Select "properties".
* Select "settings".
* Select "advanced".
* Select "ATI Catalyst Control Center".
* Select "Displays Manager"

Once the "Displays Manager" tab opens you should see at the bottom tab you should see a box marked "rotation". Set your rotation to 0 degrees landscape.
Found it on the web.

I disagree.
Look at the help he's getting even with the nerve to use pissed off member as a username.

Remember that it's the squeaky wheel that gets the oil!

RE: Loads of problems - PissedOffUser - 09-23-2010

Yes Jinix you´re right. And its clearly understandable that I´m angry. I mean, i PAYED for this "game" and it´s too much to want it to run ? Dodgy come on...

Ah yes, the patch helped exactly ZERO. But well, worth a try I think Sleepy

Yes, and the squeaky wheel only gets the oil because everybody wants it to stop squeaking. Sad, but true.

@PissedOffUser
If you really want to play Amnesia, you might try setting up a virtual machine using VMWare. The newest release supports OpenGL up to version 2.1.
I'm pretty sure it's the modded drivers, though. Have you tried deinstalling them and installing unmodded ones, then try the fix?

RE: Loads of problems - PissedOffUser - 09-28-2010

I can´t believe this actually worked, THANK YOU JINIX ! Heart really man
Solution: VirtualMachine (XP) ...
