Amnesia The Dark Descent Movie? - BulletInTheHart - 10-15-2010

I'm assuming that everyone reading this loves Amnesia and in turn would love a movie like Amnesia. Well I'm wondering, is there any movies that will fill this desire? Anything that can get my 18th century mystery desires a little more fulfilled. Or am I the only one who thinks a Lovecraftian movie set in 18th century (castle) would be amazing. Smile

RE: Amnesia The Dark Descent Movie? - Tanshaydar - 10-15-2010

I'm fan of every Lovecraftian movie, even the most amateur ones.
I think the best one is Cthulhu (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0478126/) but I'd like to see new ones too.
For Amnesia, there would be a proper professional movie, but it's unlikely to be done. So, an amateur movie would be done. I think Hionimi can do this: http://www.frictionalgames.com/forum/thread-5009.html

Yes, I'm obsessed with everything haunted castle/mansion related.

Um, well, I can manipulate pictures, entire videos is another thing. Smile
But I know Sony Vegas Pro can do wonderful things the easy way, I'm still considering buying the program.

And by the way, you mispelled my name. Tongue

I don't think the setting in the game would make a good movie. just imagine watching 1,5 hour of one person stumbling around in the dark with no dialogue. It would have to be reworked almost completely.

Anyway a good oldschool mystery movie you might want to check out is: The Name of the Rose -http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0091605/

I agree. It would be possible to tell some other stories in the Amnesia world through film. Wilhelm's story, for example, would be very interesting.

I personally could quite easily watch that Smile I suppose some people wouldn't find it entertaining. And I have seen the name of the rose, particularly from a young age the thing I remember most is the dead guy in the bath. Smile

Ops, sorry. Corrected now.
Well, I have made a Silent Hill 2 Movie Teaser with two of my friends, with only a digital camera. What needed is some deeper intent.

I agree.

Count me in.

I think Superluser had a good point. There are aspects of the game setting that could be adapted to movie, such as Wilhelm, or following Daniel prior to the titular quaff, then shifting to a different perspective, possibly the Sheriff and he attempts to enter the Castle with a small troop from another angle, twisting his path around and across Daniel's, like how Blue Shift winnowed around Freeman's progress.
