Modding Soundfiles - clownseuche - 08-23-2016 Hey there, is there a guide somewhere that tells me how to extract and edit the SOMA soundfiles? And after that I need to install them so I can hear the altered files ingame. Could someone please tell me where to start? Thank you RE: Modding Soundfiles - Romulator - 08-23-2016 Leaving my response here, but in a spoiler in case you want .ogg vorbis files. Note that it's complex and requires Linux. Spoiler below!

There are methods to extract them, however from what I can tell, any of them available on Windows do not or cannot extract the headers, which stops the .ogg files from being playable in applications such as VLC. ummm, romulator: will i be banned for putting up one that can rip the sound files into .wavs? That's How i ended up making my album but wasn't sure if frictional would agree or not ^^; RE: Modding Soundfiles - Romulator - 08-23-2016 (08-23-2016, 03:44 PM)CrashHeadroom Wrote: ummm, romulator: will i be banned for putting up one that can rip the sound files into .wavs? Every single one will be ripped into .wav format ^^ RE: Modding Soundfiles - Romulator - 08-23-2016 Okay. The fact that that works is ridiculous. That's a pretty great find Crash! Great work! RE: Modding Soundfiles - Abion47 - 08-23-2016 To play the sounds in SOMA, you will need to pack them back into FMOD sound banks. The process is detailed and here on the wiki. |
