failed to launch (error code 51) - jack.mort - 11-02-2010

So i downloaded amnesia from steam (after previously playing the demo which ran whithout problems) now when i go to play the full version it goes through the regular launching procedure and then comes up with a small box saying 'Amnesia: the dark descent failed to start (error code 51). Any ideas/solutions? thanks Smile

i dont seem to have a folder on my computer under that i have tried searching hpl.log but it doesnt find anything.

Then there is a problem with steam. Try reinstalling the game.

I have reinstalled the game twice still no luck with it Sad

is it likely to be fixed with an update at some point?

Try changing the Amneisa.exe so it is run by administrator.

Since the game does not even start, I am afraid it is an error we do not have much control over and thus cannot provide any updates for.
