Amnesia from Steam on Linux - Jazerix - 11-03-2010 Since Amnesia the dark ascent supports Linux, i was wondering if there was any way to get the linux version, the problem is that I bought it from steam :/ RE: Amnesia from Steam on Linux - hollowleviathan - 11-03-2010 There's two possibilities. 1. The Steam purchase represents only a PC/Mac license, and you'll just need to emulate, or 2. Buy the game from Frictional Games store. RE: Amnesia from Steam on Linux - Jazerix - 11-03-2010 i might just do that, still it would be nice if you got a cd key when you bought the game from steam which you then could use on the official site for amnesia and download the game there aswell. Attached a proof of my account with amnesia : RE: Amnesia from Steam on Linux - 655321 - 11-03-2010 what do you get if you right click the game title and select "view game cd key"? If you get a cdkey from there, you can try and use that key when you download the linux game. Also another thing that comes to mind is that you can go to https://shelf.frictionalgames.com/ and try your email and cdkey and see if that works out, from there you can download the linux version. Also I can upload the linux game to a file sharing site if you want AND if Frictional doesn't mind me doing it (I have it right here, purchased it a couple days ago, you will have to wait a couple of hours though till upload finishes). You can also install steam on linux via wine and try to run the game directly from steam, most likely it will work pretty good. Hope it helped RE: Amnesia from Steam on Linux - Yuhaney - 11-04-2010 (11-03-2010, 11:02 PM)655321 Wrote: I can upload the linux game to a file sharing site Not allowed. If you can't get the game to work with workarounds, such as Wine, you need to buy the Linux copy. RE: Amnesia from Steam on Linux - hollowleviathan - 11-04-2010 If you edited my post, mod, can you please indicate so with an "Edited" line at the bottom so I don't think I'm going crazy and not remembering what I said? (PS sorry for the original improper suggestion) RE: Amnesia from Steam on Linux - 655321 - 11-04-2010 Then your option is to install it via wine. First go to the comp where you have the game install and tell steam to backup the game. Next install steam in linux. What distro are you using? When you have it installed restore the amnesia steam backup to your linux and you should be good to go.
