How to fix drivers for SOMA! - bajamroozy - 06-01-2017
I have an idea to show you guys how to fix SOMA by fixing drivers.
First of all, open the Device Manager by typing "devmgmt.msc".
Now, second of all, double click on Display Adapters, and right-click the
wrong driver. Click Uninstall, and it will tell you a message that you're going
to uninstall the driver. Restart your computer, and you have a VGA driver going on. Don't worry, this won't mess your computer's graphics up!
Third, go to the Intel 4000 site:
https://downloadcenter.intel.com/product/81499/Intel-HD-Graphics-4000
If you have an AMD driver, go to the site:
http://www.amd.com/en-us/products/graphics/desktop/5000/5770
Or if you have the max requirements:
http://www.driverscape.com/download/amd-radeon-hd-8770
Also, you must use DirectX 11 before downloading!
If you have an nVidia driver, go to that site:
http://www.geforce.com/hardware/notebook-gpus/geforce-gtx-460m
Or if you have the max requirements:
http://www.driverscape.com/download/nvidia-geforce-gtx-480m
Restart after installing the correct driver. Now you can play SOMA with good performance.

This is basically the same as Question 3 on the graphics card troubleshooting guide, just without any pre-requisites. I'd be careful saying this won't mess someone's computer up because if they have a dedicated graphics card where the monitor is plugged in, they may not see anything after uninstalling the driver until they plug the monitor into the integrated motherboard card.

I know, inquisitor. People have to be careful about the dedicated graphics card. So, it's just really okay to do a repair for people's computers, but no need for SOMA to be sentenced as a common phobia by the way, and that's really about it.

And even if they unplug their monitors when using laptops, it could be fine.

EDIT: I mean, if you have a dedicated driver, then you couldn't see anything until you unplug the monitor cord/chord.
