Crash on loading screen - Indrid - 11-25-2010 I'm hoping someone can help me out with this. I'm able to launch the game and I can get through the intro where it asks you to set your gamma correction, then once it starts loading, the game crashes and flickers from the loading screen to the in-game cursor on a black background and cycles through that until the game crashed and I get an error message saying the Nvidia OpenGL driver crashed with error #2 (whatever that means). Just to help in troubleshooting, I'm running a GeForce 9800 GX2 on Windows 7 64-bit and I purchased the game through Steam. So far I've tried disabling my secondary monitor, turning off v-sync and running the game in different lower resolutions and quality settings. Hoping you can help. RE: Crash on loading screen - jens - 11-25-2010 post the hpl.log from My Documents/Amnesia/ I'm guessing you need to download the latest drivers available from Nvidia.com and install them to fix the problem. RE: Crash on loading screen - jens - 12-04-2010 Try to verify the cache for the game and also make sure to not run any other programs at the same time as the game. Perhaps disable any sort antivirus or similar that might cause a conflict, try to run the game as admin or other things like that. It's likely some sort of specific conflict or a setting for the graphics card perhaps causing the problem. RE: Crash on loading screen - Indrid - 12-04-2010 Okay, I tried verifying the game cache, everything came back okay. I tried deleting the game and reinstalling it over steam, everything went fine. I tried running the game with the default forceware settings, it freaks out again. I tried turning off certain features in the launcher and I at least got to the title screen. Then I tried starting a new game, it begins freaking out again. Let me also reiterate I don't have these issues with any other game, direct3d or opengl. RE: Crash on loading screen - jens - 12-05-2010 Don't really have any ideas sorry, have you checked the trouble shooting guide? http://www.frictionalgames.com/forum/thread-3754.html |
