Steam or FrictionalGames store? - tvguide123 - 12-23-2010

Hey guys I found out about this game from a friend, and after watching several videos about it online, I've decided to buy the game and gift it to one of my friends.

I would like to support Frictional Games so I wanted to know if you have a preference whether I buy the game from Steam or the Frictional Games store.

Steam would be my preferred method because I can bundle a few other games for my friend and easily gift it to him. But I'm willing to buy Amnesia separately if it makes a big difference.

Looking forward to pooping my pants!

Thanks!

Well... FG gets almost all of the money you spend when you buy through their store. The transaction processing company takes a very small percentage. Steam on the other hand takes a bigger percentage.

If you want to support FG the best way, its best to buy it from here. Smile

Steam takes ~30%.

Are u serious ?????? its huge...

in an other point of view, amnesia is a quite good commercial succes (for a niche indie game) because of its steam digital vertion.

So I dont know, its up to you ^^ I think you should buy it from the store. but if you enjoy steam (like I do) buy it on steam.
And if you really want to erase the 30 %, make 15 gifts of that game like I did ^^ XD

Well, Deu Sex, you may think that Steam taking 30% is much, but the developers at least receive 70%.
Other publishers keep up to 80% and only leave much less for the developers.

If you want to support devs mainly - buy from their store.
If you want to support both, devs and Steam/Valve - buy from Steam.
Easy.

Frictional store has the benefit of including linux, steam will be just mac / win for now. It's possible that if they release an official linux client they will try to include linux versions of games but don't count on it.
