Pretty much plastered it was made by paradox interactive all over the box lol. I just found a small "Frictional Games" logo on the bottom somewhere. RE: So I got the boxed version of penumbra - thedaemon - 12-25-2010 Publishers do that. Publishers do the whole marketing thing, so at first it may seem that they are responsible for the game's development. But anyway, Paradox are cool guys. RE: So I got the boxed version of penumbra - nofsky - 12-26-2010 Publishers also take around 75% of the money. Kind of makes sense why they didn't get a publisher for Amnesia. RE: So I got the boxed version of penumbra - Lorkas - 12-29-2010 Publishers like Paradox Interactive do more good than bad for low-budget games. They share their name with less known video games, and do the dirty work of advertising and publishing (surprise surprise). Taking 75% of the income might sound like something Reinhard Heydrich would do, but in reality they manage to sell so much of the merchandise that it pays off for the developers both financially and popularity wise. |
