Penumbra crashes every time I try and load - R0AHN - 01-07-2011 OK, so every time I try and load a previous game, the program throws a fit and crashes. This is the specific error: "penumbra.exe caused an EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION in module MSVCP71.dll at 0023:7c3a4f27. std::basic_string<char.std::char_traits><char>,std::allocator<char> >::compare()+0020 byte(s)" And this is the copy of my hpl.log keeps saying my save files are blank. Oddly enough, the log file is right, and that's probably the direct problem. Anyone have ideas why it's not really saving? Now penumbra.exe is causing an access violation in itself. I'm actually running an x64 installation of 7, but I've got a x86 on a separate drive in the same computer. I'll try installing on that to see if maybe that's *part* of the issue. I didn't find anyone else with this issue on the forum, but I don't know how many people are running x64. Perhaps try to re-install and choose another directory for the installation.
