Ceilings are missing - GraphicsKid - 01-14-2011

Hey,

I've been looking through the main game's maps to learn about how to make maps, and I've noticed that on a lot of them (or maybe even all of them and I just haven't noticed!) the ceiling is missing. Is it simply hidden, or is something going wrong?

Looking at it from the top, you see through the ceiling since it isnt textured on its back. Try looking at the level from below, the ceiling will appear. It is there, but you need to have the right angle to see it.

Nope, it's not there. Sad

You have to disable the Clip planes.

RE: Ceilings are missing - xiphirx - 01-15-2011

what level is this?

RE: Ceilings are missing - Andross - 01-15-2011

There are some levels where they set up clip planes to make the ceilings disappear. Two examples are archives_cellar and cellar_maze.

RE: Ceilings are missing - GraphicsKid - 01-15-2011

-Old Archives (high ceiling missing)
-Distillery (high ceilings are missing)
-Archives Cellar (all ceilings)
-Cellar Maze (all ceilings)
-Storage (many parts)

I haven't checked the other 2 "chapters" yet.

EDIT: OOOHHH OOHHH... How do I do this?

EDIT2: Nevermind, figured it out. This makes my life SOOOOO much easier. I built one room right on top of another, so I was always having to zoom in so far.

You mean, deactivate the clip planes? Wink
There is a dialogue for that on the bottom of the level editor. Hit the minus button until everything is visible.

edit: Oh, I see you meant something different and have already figured it out. My bad.

No no that's exactly what I was after.
