I mean, when is it kinda pushing the max amount?

I'm making a area that kinda has to be big, and I'm trying to detail it pretty well too, however I was wondering how many props could I get in before the game would start lagging on most computers.

The game has never lagged for me even when I tested it out with some nifty timer functions that spawned A LOT of skulls, but I have a QuadCore so I don't know how representative that is.

Be careful with lights or shadow casters though. Those rely heavily on your graphicscard and thus are more prone to lags.

I noticed that Decals make the map slower to load and work with (but not ingame), really fast. Filled up a corridor with blood and the map went from 500kb to 2mb...

That explains why my friggen map flew up to 12mb all of a sudden! Sad

MapView says my map fetches 100+ MB memory. Is that normal?
