OK, you sometimes get a gun. We knew that Frictional Games is not a friend of weapons but the game is still good. I find it have more eerie moments as Amnesia or Penumbra has.
It is not a shooter like Fear or Dead Space. It is really a horror game.
I would like such a game by FG. They could make it without weapons.
A horror game in a house will be great.

Ive seen that before, but its definitely not scarier than either of Frictional games' games. For one, you get a gun. Yeah, yeah, only sometimes, but still. You have some sense of protection. Also,

I played it. I don't get where the hype comes from; it's very polished but incredibly cliché.

Might I suggest Maniac Mansion, Resident Evil 1, House of the Dead, Alone in the Dark, Eternal Darkness:Sanity's Requiem, and, heck, Luigi's Haunted Mansion?
I downloaded the game to give it a try, but I'm kind of in the middle of Batman: Arkham Asylum.
