Question about Amnesia LP - bitzaxp90 - 02-12-2011

Well I would like to make an Amnesia LP since I don't know 90% of the game, but there's one problem: my voice.

My voice sounds horrible in real life but even more horrible if I speak to a microphone... It sounds ridiculous. Can I modify my voice somehow? In Sony Vegas... Something so I can make it a bit with pitch higher >.<

My voice->total fail. I WANT IT MODIFIED!

Take some female hormones.

Yeh you can pitch shift in vegas but theres a few things to remember.

Pitch shifting up will decrease it's duration unless you time stretch it or similar.
It may take a while to process since it will be a long audio stream.
Youtube users like silly voices.

I doubt your voice sounds that bad.
Have you just started to listen to your own recorded voice or what?

I recorded myself talking while I'm playing and my accent from real life it's not clearly "listenable". It sucks. And the voice doesn't sound like mine in real life either.

That's the common thing. Nobody likes their voice when they hear it recorded. When you speak, you hear yourself not as others hear you because you hear the voice from inside your body.
Sorry, that may be a rather pathetic explanation, but I'm not a native English speaker.

This is what I was thinking.
Don't know why it sounds different when listening it by yourself, but it does. It's a normal thing. Happened to me too when I first time heard my recorded voice.

And what comes to your accent, you can always practice it before recording.

Well... I will have the balls and upload my LP, my friend does a Penumbra Overture one too.

Btw, he is 14 years old and he gets scared easily. More easily than me...My Amnesia LP isn't gonna be epic. AT LEAST I WILL HAVE THE BALLS TO UPLOAD IT.

If you want one tip:
You said you have bad mic. If that is true, then buy a new, better one.
Since it is annoying to listen when the mic is bad... Just listen someone playing online and then you don't even understand half of what he's trying to say since the mic is so bad. Tongue

Rofl. I didn't said that. My laptop is a very new one, from summer 2010... And some friends say that my voice rocks. AND I DON'T BELIEVE A S*IT. Seriously now, my microphone is very good.. It's just that I don't like haters.
