Well, on the note of that guys idea, the monsters with chains, you could always use a Suitor. I know the mod isn't meant to be scary and stuff, but I'm sure if there's no monsters people will receive it negatively. If you did use a Suitor, use Basile damn it!

I didn't say there are no monsters. There will be. Just it's not that I'll put a monster on everywhere to pop them up whenever you open a door or pick up an object.

Tan, I love that you showed the players body. Its one of the things I wanted to implement in my mod from the start. So glad to see others doing it as well :-)

Is it a new model or did you reskin a corpse?

RE: White Night - Total Conversion - Tanshaydar - 06-30-2011

Well, actually I have no modeling or good texturing experience. It's Howard from PenumbraShy

Ah, I apologize, I misunderstood.

RE: White Night - Total Conversion - Tanshaydar - 06-30-2011

No need to apologize man. I actually was thinking of omitting all kind of encounters. However, now there are a few which carefully built-up and implemented.
They fit into story.

I'm not gonna say they're unique, but they're different, that's for sure, like this: http://www.moddb.com/mods/white-night/images/burning-monster

Still, monsters and scares are not my main concern. My main concern is to screw your mind *evil smile*

now THAT'S what I like to hear from the creator of a custom story.

I've added a new mechanic to White Night and I think I should let you know.
Since White Night is set in 2000s, tinderbox mechanic is completely useless to me. Unless...

I've replaced tinderboxes with light bulbs. I think it fits into theme.

Its... Its... Beautiful... :O

I think it's an excellent idea. Big Grin

RE: White Night - Total Conversion - DamnNoHtml - 07-08-2011

Really well done. I thought "well it is sort of silly for the protagonist to walk around juggling 10 light bulbs in his hand," but honestly, doing that with Tinderboxes is just as silly. Its a game mechanic, and it works.
