You got a completely different point from what I tried to pick out.

Yeah, it's like Facebook, just another closed social media system.

I understand your point and am patient about Justine - I just couldn't resist letting my Steam-anger outBig Grin

The only thing Steam takes from you is resale. Steam is wonderful for developers, esp. smaller ones. Also, activating a pre-order steam number shouldn't remove your eligibility to download from the Frictional Store (which is equally non-resaleable) anytime you like.

The main gripe for me, is that people who actually bought the game, full priced with no discounts haven't received Justine. Obviously the DLC was for the ARG by Valve and there was going to be a slight delay, but it's already been well over a month.

Anyway, I can wait and I am certainly wondering what these suprises are.

I prefer buying at retail.

It's up to developer then. Fallout: New Vegas uses Steamworks in both digital and retail versions. You have to activate the game and register it to your account to play.

They are probably setting up the suprises, unless the surprise would be this:

Same as Modern Warfare 2, Sniper Ghost Warrior, Black Ops,and many more...honestly this Steam system knows how to mess up even a good game...

There are so many games on Steam and XBLA that will never see retail, and I'd rather support developers than publishers. It just boils down to personal choice, where there is no right answer.

Sadly, Frictional is a small team and supporting 3 OSes, about 4 different release avenues, and at least 5 language localizations means there are 12 released games each with localizations to test and verify, all for a team of a half dozen working with 3 publishers to release a patch while also working on their new game.
