Floor Morphing :o - dsdyag - 05-22-2011

Sorry as to some people who may have seen something like this before. I have amnesia on a ATi Xpress 200 after getting the demo and it working fine. However in the full version (1.2) the floor is morhping at me and rises wherever i walk. This is quite frustrating and wonder if there is a fix.

Please DONT tell me to update my drivers becasue this causes Renderer #0 to fail and i had to restore my old drivers

Well you need to update your drivers. You cannot do anything else. What operating system do you have? I remember when I first registered in this forum another guy with the same gpu and the same problem I think. Let me find it...

Found it. He had the exact same gpu and the exact same problem. The sad thing is that it is my only time that I couldn't help someone with graphics problems. This gpu is way old. Check the thread here:

The only solution is to update your gpu drivers. These links are still the most current one for your gpu:

Download the appropriate one according to your operating system and install them. If the Renderer #0 problem still exists, we'll solve it later. But for now, make sure to have the latest gpu drivers.

Ive downloaded and installed it but, there seems to be no difference.

I think it didn't install properly or the old one didn't uninstall but i can't find it on my computerUndecided

What operating system do you have and from what manufacturer is the card(not Ati, I mean sub-manfufacturer like Gigabyte, EVGA etc...) or at least what model is the whole computer/laptop? I need to know these.

The OpenGL drivers for this card can be really bad and it might help to try a few different drivers (try from the manufacturer of the cards as well as the ATI home page)

If that does not do the trick, then try out the Omega drivers. Found at http://www.omegadrivers.net Users have reported to got the game working after using these!

In order to properly clean the older drivers and install the new ones do the following:

1) Uninstall all parts & traces of your current drivers with the normal way.

3) Select the boxes needed as shown in the picture above(click on it to enlarge it):

4) Press clean and wait for it to finish. If it asks for reboot do it.

5) After Windows starts, make sure you have downloaded the new AMD drivers for your gpu according to your system. The links can be found here:

6) Install the new driver, make sure it doesn't report any problem/error and then reboot again. If during the installation AMD has any clean install option or similar definitely select it.

7) Try to play the game at the lowest possible graphics and everything gpu demanding turned off(especially SSAO and Insanity). Actually turn off everything from the launcher and in-game too.

If that fails we'll try the omega drivers. In order to assist you more there I need to know the things I asked you on top of this reply(OS, Computer/Laptop model, GPU Manufacturer etc...).

This card is a DX9 ATI Radeon™ graphics accelerator and not an OpenGL one. Buy a new gpu...

I don't think this is supported. If updated drivers didn't work, no luck.

Sure you updated the driver?

The relase date is normal since AMD doesn't support such an old card anymore.

Maybe trying Linux version with bleeding edge drivers would work, but I wouldn't count on that.
In any case, a new graphic card seems to be best option.

the only one actually. EVEN IF (no way!) the game runs somehow it won't be a nice image at all like it is nowSad

But he should check the drivers I posted above which are modified and it might work out well...
