A word of advice for when you start playing Amnesia... DON'T hold down the run key the whole time. I've watched people play, and they just run right past EVERYTHING, nothing scares them, and it ruins the game for them.

Does running past it all...work? Sounds like a recipe for getting cut down in your prime.

No no, I mean running past the whole level. I can't tell you how many times I had to explain to my brother or my cousin just what it was they were supposed to be doing. They didn't read the notes, they didn't pay attention to the flash-backs, and the found it more fun to grab stuff and throw it across the room. So... they got nothing out of the experience. Had they reached the part where the monsters show up, they would have been killed, but they got bored of the game before that could happen.
