Crash upon loading game world - snakeater - 04-09-2007 Sorry to contribute to the crash threads, the games fantastic, but here we go... First installed the game, ran fine, next day, crashes with the famous 'send error report' box while loading a save. Reinstalling fixed it. Now, 4 days later, reinstalling no longer fixes it... From this, I can tell that the game world loads, and indeed when it crashes with the dialouge box I can hear the game sometimes actually running. Any help would be appriciated, thanks! EDIT: restarting the PC after the uninstall seems to work; but the game still needs to be re-installed after several start ups o.O RE: Crash upon loading game world - MercenaryForHire - 04-09-2007 The next time this happens, try deleting the contents of /redist/core/cache and see if that fixes it before a reinstall. RE: Crash upon loading game world - jens - 04-09-2007 Delete the settings.cfg file in My Documents/Penumbra Overture/Episode1 And then try and run the game with audio in software mode and not hardware mode, there are some problems with audio hardware at the moment (in particular with X-Fi cards) and it's being looked into.
