Nvidia+Vista+Lag - Solution! - arcangel33 - 04-09-2007 Hey peoples, just registered so I could share this solve with the fans and developers. I have Vista 32, an E6400, 2 monitors and an 8800 and have been having serious lag issues that would, on occasion, go away. The solution is this: Disable Threaded Optimization in the Nvidia control panel - problems go away. It is default set to auto, so I believe thats why it would occasionally go away. I had thought it was initially the multi-display acceleration (in xp with a multi-monitor setup, opengl games are horrid on anything but single display performance mode), but that was not the case. Not sure if you can fix this in the upcoming patch or not, but I thought I'd help out. Great work btw, it's what IMO Call of Cthulhu was shooting for. RE: Nvidia+Vista+Lag - Solution! - Dark - 04-09-2007 mmmh, il add this to the list of tweaks nice find RE: Nvidia+Vista+Lag - Solution! - GanjaStar - 03-10-2008 i get ocassional stutter in xp when i keep threaded optimizations on, so I guess you can say its good to disable it in xp too. |
