Game Crashes to Desktop - Solvent - 04-13-2007 Hi, I have just got the game installed it fine with no problems, i then loaded it up, again no probs! I changed all the settings to 1280x1024 res, sound to hardware, everything on/high & then was prompted to restart the game. I did this but now i get the following error.. ![]() System Specs: Core 2 Duo E6700 @ 2.6 Ghz * MSI P6N * 2GB Corsair TWINX 6400 * 2x 250GB WD Caviar SE * 640MB XFX GeForce 8800GTS XT* 600W CoolerMaster eXtreme Power RE: Game Crashes to Desktop - Thomas - 04-13-2007 Delete settings.cfg in "My Documents/Penumbra Overture/Episode 1" And do not set hardware to true next time you start the game. This time i left the aduio on software & the game runs like a dream. Cheers for the reply. Are you using the latest? This is most likely driver issue, since Audigys and X-Fis use their own hardware OpenAL implementation, instead of a DirectSound3D interface used for the rest of sound cards.
