I have to agree with you there. I didn't notice the map until the first dog spawned and I had to run all the way back. Personally I found it handy, but I found the signs hard to find. Running around in circles all the time.

But after a while of seeing the dog it kinda gets boring cause its just a dog, not like floppy jaw on Amnesia Tongue. But I've seen what the creatures look like in Black Plague. Not looking forward to getting chased by that.

Because I hate all sci-fi games because they have a very ugly atmosphere.

Loved the middle ages and epic touch. Less colors, dirty architecture and rougher style.

I'm writing an adventure-horror game like this one in 1000s of years ago, played in the mossy temple ruins of Inkas or Mayas.

agreed, would like to see next game in ancient times, like in areas and ruins of Rome, Greece , Egypt, etc... Hexen-like design of levelsShy

1920's

ahhhhhhhhhhh yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

That would be a cool time period. Amnesia was taken place in 1840's I think. Think Penumbra was in 2000. Get something in the middle Tongue

Will you guys be at the GDC in Germany next week?

RE: Any News On The Next Instalment? - Googolplex - 08-10-2011

@Tottel

There are only schwachmaten games.
Just "Risen 2" could be a good game, but it is only for steam and so it is not interesting anymore.

@Googolplex
That's why Frictional Games has to be there! To raise the entire GDC to the next level. :>

I don't think they would have a lot to show. I believe they are working on a new engine but apart from that what else can they show. But you never know, as they have only made a few games they are more likely to go the smaller venues.

Someone mentioned a recent interview with Jens on the latest game, but I found this from June 8th 2011

Are there any plans to go in a different direction in the future in regards to the genre or overall “feel” of past Frictional games?

Yeah, our next game will not be a horror game, rather a game with horror. So we will spend a lot of time trying to create an experience that has more to offer than only horror. We are not sure just how deep we will go with this yet.

What'd you think?

It's already stated, months before the interview. Next game will not be a horror based game.
