Amnesia Crashing (Renderer #0 problem) - Colleoni - 08-22-2011 So, I want to play this game soooo bad, but it just doesn't seem to run on my computer ![]() I use Intel HD Graphics, might be it, I don't know. My processor is Intel Pentium P6000 1.8GHz and I run a lot of games on it. I've seen in other threads that posting my hpl.log might help. I have already updated my drivers... -------- THE HPL ENGINE LOG ------------ Engine build ID 20100818114615 Creating Engine Modules -------------------------------------------------------- Creating graphics module Creating system module Creating resource module Creating input module Creating sound module Creating physics module Creating ai module a Creating gui module Creating generate module Creating haptic module Creating scene module -------------------------------------------------------- Initializing Resources Module -------------------------------------------------------- Creating loader handlers Creating resource managers Adding loaders to handlers -------------------------------------------------------- Initializing Graphics Module -------------------------------------------------------- Setting video mode: 1024 x 768 - 32 bpp Init Glew...OK Setting up OpenGL Vendor: Intel Renderer: Intel® HD Graphics Version: 2.1.0 - Build 8.15.10.2104 Max texture image units: 16 Max texture coord units: 8 Max user clip planes: 6 Two sided stencil: 1 Vertex Buffer Object: 1 Anisotropic filtering: 1 Max Anisotropic degree: 2 Multisampling: 1 Texture compression: 1 Texture compression S3TC: 1 Auto generate MipMaps: 1 Render to texture: 1 Max draw buffers: 8 Max color render targets: 8 Packed depth-stencil: 1 Texture float: 1 GLSL Version: 1.20 - Intel Build 8.15.10.2104 ShaderModel 2: 1 ShaderModel 3: 1 ShaderModel 4: 0 OGL ATIFragmentShader: 0 ATTENTION: System does not support const arrays in glsl! RE: Amnesia Crashing (Renderer #0 problem) - Tanshaydar - 08-22-2011 It's not the latest drivers. I think it should be numbered 2361 in order for you to play Amnesia with this graphic card. Otherwise it's not possible. RE: Amnesia Crashing (Renderer #0 problem) - plutomaniac - 08-22-2011 actually you need to have the latest drivers installed which are the 2361 ones. RE: Amnesia Crashing (Renderer #0 problem) - Colleoni - 08-22-2011 Oooh, it's because I went to Acer's website and they had this one as newest. Sorry for such a dumb question, but how should I search it on Google to find it for download? It's the driver 2361 for what? Thank you :x Edit: I think I found it for download just now on Intel's website. Just wanted to thank mods for such a quick and simple answer, I was hoping for a 2~3 days response, really, nice job guys ![]() I hope I'll be able to play in a few minutes! Thank you a lot, guys ![]() RE: Amnesia Crashing (Renderer #0 problem) - plutomaniac - 08-22-2011 Well, let us know if you are able to play the game... RE: Amnesia Crashing (Renderer #0 problem) - Colleoni - 08-22-2011 Ok, so... I tried to install the driver and guess what? Error: The driver being installed is not validated for this computer. Please obtain the appropriate driver from the computer’s manufacturer. Setup will exit. SO, I went to Intel's FAQ and it told me to download it DIRECTLY from Acer's website, I double-checked it and the newest version for Intel HD Graphics there is version 2104. So basically I can't play it because Acer is outdated. I'm very upset about it, but still I thank you because your advice was correct. I just sent an email to Acer asking for the authorized new drivers, let's see if they will deliver it someday... ![]() Edit: I searched for alternative ways to download it, even though it's not validated, and I found on Intel that if I download the ZIP version of the driver, I might be able to install it (generically) manually. I'm trying it out now, will come back to tell you if I was successful ![]() Maaaaaaaaan, I'm so upset, theorically the computer installed the new driver, but I didn't believe it. And still, in the hpl.log it says that I have version 2104 instead of 2361, so I don't know what to do! I reinstalled the game and had no success yet ![]() (Also, I've already rebooted the computer) RE: Amnesia Crashing (Renderer #0 problem) - plutomaniac - 08-22-2011 Did you manually install it correctly? You have to do that through device manager. Go there, select the graphics card>update driver software and select the extracted .zip file from Intel as the installation directory. What does dxdiag reports? (run > dxdiag) RE: Amnesia Crashing (Renderer #0 problem) - Colleoni - 08-22-2011 Strange, it says there that I have version 8.713.3.3000 ![]() I'm getting pissed off, bro... Yes, I did it correctly, and when I try it again it says that the best driver is already installed... Driver File Version: 8.15.0010.2104 (English) Driver Version: 8.713.3.3000 What does this mean? It means 2361 wasn't installed correctly, yes, but why are there 2 driver things there? I don't understand these things... Anyway, I redid all the steps, selected the unzipped folder again and it still said I have the right drivers... Can I uninstall the driver/device for Intel HD Graphics and my computer will still function? Because I read somewhere that I could uninstall and install the driver again, and maybe that would work out ![]() But I'm scared it will ruin the notebook... RE: Amnesia Crashing (Renderer #0 problem) - Colleoni - 08-22-2011 If you need any detailed information, here's a bigger information of DxDiag: ----- Card name: Intel® HD Graphics Manufacturer: ATI Technologies Inc. The driver version is 8.15.10.2372. Try to install that and see if the game works after a restart: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=ob-96996-1&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en Previous Answer(if the above does not work again): Spoiler below!
