Dunno, maybe the sight of light just stuns them for a moment, then their eyes re-adjust to it. I'm sure Frictional will make them scary and threatening enough. :)

Yeah, flashlight weilding zombies may sound strange at first, but I like how that aspect hints at the intelligence behind these creatures. Makes them scarier in a way.
