I found the secret room, but the note was not there even before I discovered it. I guess I just found it arbitrary that picking up a note would only serve as a trigger to get clues from elsewhere.

Hi. I entered the library and found found a note in a drawer. Examining it let's me know that it's unreadable, but I pick it up nonetheless. But now I can't find it in either my notebook or inventory...
