Seriously speaking, yeah Brandon Smith sounds like too much of a generic name. And don't know, the story seems a bit weird. Maybe I just can't understand it.

The fact it's divided in two parts is very interesting! I would suggest giving them both a different atmosphere; if you don't, I'm afraid they might turn out to feel too alike.
