There's also grass in HPL2 (Amnesia if you didn't know).
But it's actually more made for decoration.

Yeah, if I recall, I don't think the grass moves in Amnesia? Excited for a newer engine for whatever new games they decide to make.

RE: Does modding ruin the fear of the game?

From what I´ve heard the new game FG is working on will be more of an adventure-game rather than the horror we´ve seen from Amnesia and Penumbra, it will still contain horror-elements but that won´t be the main focus of the game. I´m really exited to see what they´ve been working on Big Grin
As for your question if modding takes away the fear, yes it does. When you mod the game you discover what the game really is, you see what it has to offer, what makes it running and how and you get familiar with it. One of the first things I did when I opened up the level editor was to locate the monsters and place them on the map and go "Oh, so that´s what I´ve been so afraid of!" It´s like Yahtzee said: The monsters stay scarry the less you see them. When modding you´ll see and work with the things that scared you and you´ll get intrested in them in a new way. I´m just rambling on now Wink Think of it like this: When you start playing a guitar it´s difficoult, but the more you play the thicker the skin on your fingers becomes and playing gets much easier. If you stop playing for a long time, the thick skin´ll disappear and taking them chords´ll get difficoult.

I've been modding for a long time, and I'm still afraid to finish the main story.

Hell, I even get scared in my own stories...

I haven't played the main story yet and my biggest scare was in my own map, while testing.

A lot of different replies! I guess it really just depends on the person. I think I'm the type to get scared no matter what, whenever. I honestly don't get how some people just don't get scared from this game. Two or three of my friends said they never got scared, one who hasn't played it yet but has seen multiple videos I've showed (PewDiePie, Morfar, funny scare moments) they said they had no idea how the game could be scary, and it looked boring. He didn't understand how people get scared from it. I felt so offended for my beloved Amnesia. Sad *Hugs a grunt*

EDIT: And not to mention some think that these Amnesia LPers are staging it..........

Make him play the game in a dark room, alone, with headphones on, and in the middle of the night. His opinion will change Smile

Kman, playing like that didn't make it scarier for me at all. It's also boring playing it alone.

I think it does because you get a feeling of how the game works and you see the monsters over and over. That's one of the reasons I like to see new enemies (even if they're only tweaked), as well as why I want to make my own. I actually still get scared in some CSs, and I even jumped a few times in mine because I forget where I scripted something XD Stupid, I know, but I forgot about them.

To me, making the horrors to scare someone else is more rewarding than being scared myself. Even though I like to be scared as well =P

How I enjoy Amnesia, grab a few beers, invite 1 or 2 friends, middle of the night. Bam!
I don't scream when I'm alone only with friends.

And my speaker system makes it scarier than a headset.
